Sombras centres on the movement of light through deep, muted tones. The composition begins in heavy, charcoal-like grays and blacks, creating a sense of weight and stillness. These darker areas aren’t stagnant, however — they gradually give way to soft, warmer hues: muted amber and subtle, dusty rose, drifting across the canvas like shifting light.

The painting captures a quiet transition, showing how moments of intensity can soften over time. Rather than erasing the darker elements, the brighter colours layer over them, creating a textured sense of depth. A quiet study on how we carry our difficult experiences — allowing them to eventually blend into something more nuanced and resolved.
